BROWN MEDAL OF PLANT NOVELTIES COMPETITION 2019

The first dwarf Physocarpus with yellow foliage. It is a compact shrub growing to 1.2 m in height. It forms stiff, densely arranged shoots. The leaves are three-lobed, clearly smaller than that of the species. Young leaf blades are intensely yellow, older yellow-green. In semi-shaded positions the leaves take on a lime color. The shrub blooms at the turn of May and June. Slightly pink buds develop into small white flowers in umbellate inflorescences.

Shrub with low cultivation requirements, prefers moderately moist and permeable soil, tolerates drought and pollution. Recommended for sunny or semi-shaded locations. Highly tolerant of pruning, fully resistant to frost (zone 4).

Cultivar is recommended for planting in groups, also in the form of low, unformed hedges in private gardens and public greenery.

Cultivar bred by Timothy Wood, released to the market in 2015.
