Buddleja davidii ROCKETSTAR INDIGO® ‘SMNBDBT’ PBR

A compact deciduous shrub with very large, dark blue inflorescences that look nice against the background of gray-green leaves. The variety is characterized by a low and compact habit, grows up to 1 m wide and 60 cm high. Seasonal leaves, broadly lanceolate, dark green, silvery underneath, covered with a white trichomes. Fragrant, dark blue flowers with an orange eye, gathered in elongated paniculate inflorescences on the tops of young shoots. The bush blooms in July, the flowers appear successively until late autumn, attracting numerous butterflies and other pollinating insects. The plant requires fertile, well-drained, permeable soil, warm, sunny positions, sheltered in the winter from wind. Withstands temperature drops down to about - 20°C (zone 6b). It is suitable for planting in flower beds, singly or in groups, in compositions with shrubs and perennials, and for cultivation in containers placed on balconies and terraces. The variety was awarded a gold medal in 2018 at the international Plantarium fair in the Netherlands.
