The variety is characterized by intensely purple flowers and small sizes. The shrub has a well-branched habit. It features a nice, regular, rounded habit, grows only to 0.8 m in height and width. The leaves are narrow, lanceolate, green. The numerous flowers have a light, sweet scent which makes them attractive to pollinating insects. It blooms from July to September. Thanks to its small size, it can be used as a ground cover in mass public plantings, as well as in home gardens and in containers kept on balconies, terraces and patios. As it blooms on annual growth, it requires strong pruning in spring. It grows best in sunny positions, sheltered from the wind, and prefers well-drained, fertile and sufficiently moist soil.
