Clematis 'Królowa Bona'

Cultivar denomination: 'Królowa Bona'

A Polish profusely flowering variety with violet-purple flowers with a purple bar, classified as the group of early large-flowered clematis. The flowers are 9-12 cm in diameter and appear 60 cm from the base of the plant. The flowers that develop on last year's shoots are double, while the flowers that develop on the new growths in the summer are semi-double, sometimes single. Numerous tepals, elliptical, pointed, violet-purple with a purple bar that brighten during fading. The stamens are comprised of yellow anthers mounted on cream threads. It blooms in June and July and again in September, but less so. Medium-sized, green, heart-shaped, single or complex tricuspid leaves. Young shoots are purple, turning green as they grow. The creeper climbs with the help of leaf petioles and grows up to 1.5-2 m in height. Undemanding climber, prefers sunny positions, fertile, well-drained soil, with a neutral to slightly acidic pH.
