Pyracantha coccinea 'Orange Star' PBR

Pyracantha coccinea 'Orange Star' is a star within the assortment, it has fewer thorns than other Pyracantha and is evergreen.  The shrub blooms in early summer with white flowers. It produces masses of large, orange berries that stay on the plant for a long time,  from the summer into the winter. 'Orange Star' flowers and fruits on two-year old growths. This Pyracantha grows to about 2 m high and 1 m wide.  Plant 'Orange Star' in a fertile, well-drained soils. Not sensitive to Phytophtora ramorum and very hardy. Grows best in a sunny position sheltered from the wind.  The variety is recommended for planting in home gardens and housing estates.
