Cotinus coggygria FLAMISSIO
Shrub with decorative leaves that change color during the season and fluffy, effective fruits. It grows up to 1.5 - 2 m in height. Plants spread well, forming numerous, straight shoots. Single leaves with smooth edges, obovate, magenta in the spring, green in the summer, turning intensely red and orange in the fall. Small, inconspicuous flowers develop in June, gathered in loose, paniculate inflorescences. The stalks of sterile flowers grow and become pinnate, thus creating characteristic, fluffy, pink wigs.
The plant prefers light soils, well-drained, sunny locations. Resistant to drought and frost (zone 5b).
Cultivar recommended for planting in home and plot gardens, in flower beds and for creating effective autumn compositions with grasses, perennials and other shrubs.
Cultivar bred in France by Hortival Diffusion S.A.S., introduced to the market in 2019.
