Rhododendron KASIA

A Polish azalea cultivar with double, light pink flowers borne in dense, rounded flower clusters at the ends of the shoots. The shrub grows up to 2 m in height and flowers abundantly in the second half of May. Flower buds are intensely pink, covered with fine hairs, and characteristically sickle-shaped. As the flowers open, they become light pink and fully double. A notable feature of this cultivar is its high resistance to powdery mildew. The deciduous foliage remains healthy throughout the season, appearing light green during flowering and turning dark green in summer. The shrub is frost hardy and requires acidic, humus-rich soils with adequate moisture during the flowering period. The cultivar is recommended for planting in partially shaded locations in home and residential gardens, as well as in heath and woodland-style plantings. It is also suitable for cultivation in large containers on balconies and terraces. Hardiness zone: 5b (–26 to –23°C).
